Employment support

About this support

Work brings more than a payslip: routine, purpose, mates, and the particular satisfaction of a job done well. People with disability bring real strengths to workplaces, and the right support at the right moments can be the difference between wanting to work and actually working.

We support you across the whole journey: figuring out what kind of work suits you, getting ready to apply, settling into a new role, and keeping the job going strong. We can also work alongside your employer and any employment services in your corner, so everyone is pulling in the same direction.

Every arrangement is personalised to you. These are some of the ways this support commonly helps.

  • Exploring your work goals, strengths and interests
  • Help with resumes, applications and preparing for interviews
  • Building work-readiness skills: routines, time management and workplace communication
  • Support to settle into a new job and learn workplace tasks and expectations
  • Ongoing support to keep your job going well as things change
  • Travel support and travel training for getting to and from work
  • Working with your employer and employment services, with your consent

This support might suit you if…

  • You want to work and are not sure where to start
  • You have a job lined up and want support to start strong
  • You are working now and some extra support would help you keep it that way
  • Your confidence took a knock in a past role and you want to rebuild it properly

Not sure whether this fits your plan or your funding? Our plain-English NDIS guide explains how supports work, or you can simply ask us.

The nurse-led difference

Sustainable work depends on sustainable health. Our nurse-led team helps you plan around energy levels, medication routines and health needs so your working week is realistic and repeatable, set up to last, not just to start.

FAQs

Common questions about employment support

Is this the same as a Disability Employment Service (DES)?

No, DES is a separate, government-funded program. Our role is NDIS-funded support that helps you build the skills and confidence to find and keep work. The two can complement each other well, and with your consent we are glad to work alongside a DES provider or any other employment service supporting you.
