Complex & high-intensity care

About this support

Some support needs call for genuine clinical skill. High-intensity supports involve daily care tasks that carry real health risks if they are not done properly, and this is where a nurse-led provider makes a meaningful difference. At Angel Assistance Care, complex care is not an add-on; it is the reason our founders, both Registered Nurses, started the organisation.

These supports are delivered by, or under the close supervision of, Registered Nurses, following the NDIS Practice Standards for high-intensity daily personal activities. We work hand in hand with you, your family and your treating health professionals so that everyone follows one clear, current plan, and you can get on with your life with confidence.

The nurse-led difference

This is our specialty. High-intensity supports are delivered by Registered Nurses or by support workers who have been trained and assessed as competent by our nursing team for each specific task, for each specific participant. Competency is reviewed regularly, care plans are kept current with your treating team, and there is always a clear clinical escalation pathway.

FAQs

Common questions about complex & high-intensity care

Who actually delivers high-intensity supports?

Registered Nurses deliver or directly oversee all high-intensity supports. Where a trained support worker assists with a task, they do so only after our nursing team has trained and assessed them as competent for that exact task with you, and their competency is reviewed on an ongoing basis, in line with the NDIS Practice Standards.

Can you help with the move from hospital to home?

Yes. We can be involved before discharge, talking with your hospital team, understanding the clinical plan, preparing your supports and training the right people, so the transition home is safe and as smooth as possible.

Will you work with my doctors and other health professionals?

Always, with your consent. Good complex care depends on everyone working from the same plan. We communicate with your GP, specialists and allied health team, and we keep clear records so nothing falls through the cracks.
